Soldiers of the Cross

“Whatsoever you do unto one of the least of these my brothers, you do also unto me”
Matthew 25:36

Jesus told us that when we feed and clothe the “least of these our brethren”, that we actually minister unto Him. Using this as our driving force, the Soldiers of the Cross embark every Thursday night into the inner city of Birmingham seeking out those of our brethren who are in need.

Danny McNutt, ICM Director, prays for one of those ministered to on Thursday nights
On Thursday nights, using our converted delivery truck, the ministry delivers food, clothing, personal items, and hope to those who may lack any or all of them. When stopping at any of our 10 locations, men, women, and children can expect to receive food for their hunger, clothing and care items for their bodies, and the Word of God for their souls. The people that we see may suffer from homelessness, poverty, sickness and disease, or may simply have been told by an uncaring world that no one is concerned for them and their needs. Through the grace of God, we are able to show them that the world is wrong.

The group meets every Thursday evening in the FLC between 6 and 6:30 PM and returns normally no later than 10:30 PM. The ministry is open to men over the age of 18, or younger with a chaperone, that are attenders of our church. Also, men and women gather on Thursday afternoon and prepare the food that we will take into the inner city.
